    Rear exhaust and remapping

I bought my 2008 Impreza RX 2.0 normally aspirated with a rear and middle aftermarket stainless steel exhaust fitted by Pipe Dynamics, Leven. Just wonder if the fitting of this exhaust would have any effect on the engine ECU settings or if remapping may be required? I find the car is a bit sluggish in low revs = 1,000 to 3,000 RPM. Fuel economy is around 29-35mpg. Running 98 octane fuel, new plugs fitted. Anyone have advice or reassurance that this is normal? Cheers Tricky

Normally, a catback will not require remapping or have an affect on anything apart from sound. If it is a smaller diameter exhaust, the back pressure will be greater and could cause problems but the same size or bigger pipe would be fine.
